A note from the editor

Welcome to the February newsletter, I am feeling very excited and positive about our little group! Two members are offering singing lessons and shiatsu (both of which I would personally like to try).  We have glowing reports of a very successful quiz and trading night followed by our regular January Bring and Share lunch with trading and an Introduction from Barbara (208).  I feel proud to be a member of such a dynamic group!

Do come along to an event soon, you are welcome to any events and it is so much easier to trade if you have met people first!

Hope to see you at an event soon!

Valerie (258)

SHIATSU

I would like to encourage people to try Shiatsu which is an eastern form of massage originally from China it is a deeply relaxing experience and regular Shiatsu sessions help to prevent the build-up of stress in our daily lives. Following a treatment, there can be a feeling of increased vitality, of being invigorated yet relaxed.

Some of the main physical benefits are to:

·       Stimulate the circulatory, lymphatic and hormonal systems.

·       Regulate the activity of the autonomic nervous system.

·       Release toxins and deep seated tension from muscles

It is offered either on a mat or on a chair fully clothed and I am a qualified and insured practitioner.    Vikki (260)

SINGING IS GOOD FOR YOU!

Would you love to sing, but think you can't? (Or have been told by others that you can't?!)

I can help you find your singing voice and enjoy singing just for the sake of it, or in order to go forward to join a choir, or get lessons, or whatever it is you want to achieve. This could be a good starting point.

6 Buzzards per hour, tailored to you, or come along with a friend, if you prefer.

I can come to your house, or you to mine, whichever is easier.

PAST EVENTS:

With MANY THANKS to Bob Beaumont (and team) we had a brilliant quiz night; a really fantastic turn-out with teams from Hemplets and Milton Keynes Letnet in attendance and lots of amazing cake (thanks to Janet and others).  Not only was it a successful quiz, but we also had a lot of inter-group trading and a really fun evening. Thanks to all concerned.

Hotly followed by another successful Bring and Share lunch, again with trading in January …

Members Interview

At the July open meeting we were discussing ways in which members could introduce themselves to the group and publicise their offers and wants.

This month we feature Barbara No 208.

When did you join Letsbuzz?

I’m not exactly sure when I joined but I was a member is 2009, having moved to Wing in 2006 from Abbots Langley.

What do you like about being in Letsbuzz?

I liked the idea of trading between like-minded people and bypassing cash if possible.

What would you like to change?

The new email group for adverts is much easier to use and should hopefully increase trading.  Mixing with other local groups also boosts trading and it would be nice to be an annual event.

What is your most frequent trade?

Using buzzards for Sean’s lovely duck and chicken eggs, but I get some back when I look after them if he is on holiday.  I bake for home and also make lots of cakes for Open Days at Pitstone Green Museum as I help in the kitchen.

What has been your most unusual trade?

I don’t think anything has been that unusual – the nice thing about Letsbuzz is that almost anything can be traded!

What are your interests?

I’m an International Judge for Shooting – preferably pistol although I’m qualified for everything, I write for dressage judges as they have to concentrate on what the horses are doing so I put their comments on the forms, gardening – I have an allotment in Wing, table tennis, walking, line dancing – anything but housework!

What are your current offers and wants?

Often spare plants and produce, although they are needed when I run a plant stall at the Marie Curie Blooming Great Tea Party in Wing in June.  A housework fairy would be lovely!

What's the best way for members to contact you?

By email – barbarabarber208@btinternet.com
